Cuts nice too. I’m cruising through knee high weeds. Almost down to dirt. Once I weed n feed and overseed it all the yard should start shaping up! Smoothest mower engine I have ever encountered too. Go Honda!
Stupid move of the day; When I started cutting it was slow to go into gear. Veeery slow. Then I smelled “clutch” smell. If Yellow had a smell.. Crap! The trans is gone..
Nope.. Idiot here left the park brake on.
The tires need replaced and either one of the blades is bent or a spindle is going but outside of that it’ll do fine for this season.

Where did you find the tool to get the flywheel off?

I tapped that sucker with a 3lb hammer and it jumped right off!

More importantly does it wheelie?

Had a feeling when I saw the motor out that there would be an “alternative method”

Those two cylinder Hondas are great engines. I always thought it was funny how after looking at a Deere or something with a Kohler, the Honda’s engine looks like a little car engine.

Sadly, no. But I have a trio of 3 wheelers for wheelie duty. I have to preserve this one so I can trade my Dad for the Ford Tractor I gave him.

Interesting. Never thought about a water cooled twin in a lawn tractor.

The weird thing is that this thing was built in 1988! Just having it run after who knows how many abusive owners is impressive.

Only kidding I totally never did that and or took it off jumps.. Cant find the pic. Wife kicked me off real pc to laptop. Was a late 90's Yard Machine with a 19 hp twin Kohler.

The best mower I ever used was a worn out Murray, mid 90's I’d guess. I don’t know how old it was but wore the teeth off the flywheel. My parents replaced it with a Troybuilt. Horrible mistake.
Anyways the best part was feeling the tractor body undulate over the lawn. That's some chassis strength!

No joke. The older ones were way overbuilt. The 70s Ford I gave my Dad was built to take a mini backhoe attachment. I’d kill to find that.

Years back I used to find riders for free. I killed 2.5 doing dumb stuff.
Turns out High Speed and Hydrostatic aren’t good friends. Who knew?

The Murray took some abuse at my end. A few deck belts and an oil change every couple years was all I gave it. Should've gave it a new flywheel if possible.

I guess the payback for dealing with all that complication is smoothness :)

Ha! I forgot all about that!
Oddly that’s how I feel running mine. Fifth gear is quick!
